Sunset's Blush

The setting sun is playing favorites tonight
Descending deliriously,
dripping with dreams and desires
She tickles the tree tops,
teasing and tantalizing
Moving slowly and seductively with finesse
Licking each of the extended fingers of the branches
With long tongues of temptress light
She carefully caresses each leaf from it's edge to it's center
Flooding the bodies of the trees with seduction
Purposely pouring out her warmest embrace
She flaunts a rousing radiance
with justified vanity

The coy branches respond with a crimson blush
They've been dressed and undressed with passion and purpose
Conquered and consummated
by a cascade of color
Washed in wondrous warmth
and now left to cool
They stand sated,
content in quiet afterglow

Sunset is spent and has stretched across the sky in relaxation
Mussing the blue blankets
of heaven's expansive bed
Her sighs escape,
tangerine and lemon chiffon
The candy apple red of her lips
has kissed the world
Creating a masterpiece of light
She is a seductive enchantress
of time
An enigma,
making love to the universe
